Both private boat trips in Akagera and non-private normally takes place on Lake Ihema- the biggest Lake in the Park. The time you spend on boat/ Lake Ihema, expect a lot of wonders including those you never thought of! Water birds, aquatic mammals including crocodiles, hippos and so on. Lake Ihema the biggest in Akagera National Park idyllically located in the south of the park in savannah covering an area of about 90 square kilometers with a depth that varies from 5 to 7 m depending on the area and the season. The eastern lake shore also forms the border between Tanzania and Rwanda. River Akagera is among the tributary that feeds the lake.
