New Akagera Park Fees started working on 15 January 2021. The New Akagera Park pricing aims to support the long-term sustainability of the park. An increase has been applied to park entry fees only, and the introduction of a USD $50 aircraft landing fee. The activity rates remain the same. Book Now
Akagera National Park has seen noteworthy development over the past ten years with major milestones including the reintroduction of lions and East African black rhinos making Akagera a ‘Big Five’ park again. Animal numbers have tripled, illegal activities are at rock bottom and tourism accommodation options have swelled. Visitor numbers have increased from 15,000 in 2010 to nearly 50,000 in 2019, while the increase has been positive the rate of growth is unsustainable in the long term. With the majority of visitors coming within four months of the year certain peak periods exceed tourist carry capacity levels which have an impact on the park as well as the experience for visitors.
Modifying the pricing is one way to slow growth whilst still generating the revenue needed to manage the park. The new Akagera Park fees aims to promote longer stays by reducing the entry fee for subsequent nights spent in the park.

Akagera National Park is a beautiful place to enjoy peace in nature while viewing game animals and beautiful birds.
