There is something extra special about this place!! Akagera Rhino Lodge is rustic in nature and has been curated to include the distinctive hallmarks of Rwandan hospitality. Immensely friendly staff, simply wonderful, so welcoming with a good vibe, and makes sure you receive everything you need and really go further to their way to support you with your workshop. Our connections with the local community provide such a personal experience – through visiting local beekeepers and banana beer production, as well as a community center that sells locally-made products and provides farming support for local families.
Akagera Rhino Lodge – houses are super nice, each with a balcony and terrific view. Perfect to do yoga in the mornings or evenings. Just pure relaxation and it’s a good place to absorb Africa. The stunning view from the rooms is incredible, and the sunrise is breathtaking. It’s a perfect place to relax and explore Lake Ihema in the National Park and we would absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting the Akagera National Park-Rwanda.
There is an open-air common space for check-in and dining that is lit with beautiful lanterns once darkness falls. A lovely campfire is lit close by for guests to enjoy under the vastly beautiful African night sky untouched by light pollution. A lovely complimentary breakfast starts your day before heading out for safari with the option to have a prepared bag lunch. You place your dinner order before leaving for the day and it is ready when you return that night. Along with delicious food, we offer a variety of drinks includes spirits, wine, beer, and juice. A most darling guest house greets you at the end.
The location of the lodge is perfect – not far from the park entrance about a 5-minute drive and perched right on the top of a hill.
